The Spritz is well known and for many of us a low alcoholic refreshment on a terrace. But where does ‘Spritz’ actually come from?
In Greek Mythology the only one strong enough to drink wine pure was Dionysus. So the ancient Greeks added water to their wine long before ‘Spritz’ was born.
The name ‘Spritz’ was originated in the 1800s in Veneto when Habsburgian soldiers and merchants found the local wines too alcoholic and asked to add a ‘Spritz’ of water to their wine in the taverns.
In the early 1900s Soda became more popular, that’s also when Spritz got it’s bubbles.
Kiss My Rhubarb gives an invigorating twist to this Spritz. Low alcoholic, fresh sours and fruity.
One of our favorites to sip away those lovely summer days.
